千百年來，在人們眼里，命運(yùn)是神秘莫測(cè)，不可把握，無法控制的餓一種神秘力量，是主宰人們一生的至高無上的主任，而人類則永遠(yuǎn)是命運(yùn)的仆人和奴隸，半個(gè)世紀(jì)以前，一位比利時(shí)智者莫里斯?梅特林克先生告訴我們，人們是完全可以成為命運(yùn)的主任而非奴隸，這種能夠把握，主宰和戰(zhàn)勝命運(yùn)的首要條件就是自信。因此，我認(rèn)為自信是成功的基石。
一個(gè)人要自信，就要克服自卑，樹立自信。1951年，英國女醫(yī)生弗蘭克林從自己拍攝X射線衍射中發(fā)現(xiàn)了DNA雙螺旋結(jié)構(gòu)，經(jīng)過研究，她大膽地提出了假設(shè)，并以此為題做了一次很出色的演講，然而許多人對(duì)她的發(fā)現(xiàn)提出質(zhì)疑，懷疑她的照片的真實(shí)性和假說的可靠性，在這些壓力下，弗蘭克林也開始懷疑自己：作為一個(gè)普通醫(yī)生，提出這樣高森的理論問題，或許太不自量力了吧？她動(dòng)搖了。于是，她公開否認(rèn)了自己提出的假說，也沒有再繼續(xù)研究下去，后來在1953年，其他科學(xué)家卻證實(shí)了這個(gè)假說，不自信的弗蘭克林與成功失之交臂了。

著名天文學(xué)家，自然科學(xué)先驅(qū)哥白尼，第一個(gè)對(duì)影響人類達(dá)千年之久的托勒玫地心說提出懷疑，否認(rèn)。遭到無數(shù)千萬人的反對(duì)及壓迫，但他自始自終都相信自己的“是地球繞太陽旋轉(zhuǎn)而非太陽繞地球旋轉(zhuǎn)”的理論，也沒有輕言放棄，最終，其日心說被應(yīng)證了，哥白尼也成功了。如果，他在人們提出懷疑的時(shí)候也懷疑自己的能力，他就不會(huì)有后來的成功。
自信是人生成功的奠基石，人的成功之路必須踏著自信的石階步步登高。有了自信，人才能達(dá)到自己所期望達(dá)到的境界，才能成為自己所希望成為的人，堅(jiān)持自己所追求的信仰。無論在什么情況下，自信者的格言都是：“我想我能夠的，現(xiàn)在不能夠，以后一定會(huì)能夠的！”所以我們每個(gè)人務(wù)必要把自信送給自己！

When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism
and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old, even at 20, but as long as
your aerials are up, to catch waves of optimism, there is hope you may die
young at 80.
