焦點是這樣的一個點—當飛機的攻角發(fā)生變化時,飛機的氣動力對該點的力矩始終不變,因此它可以理解為飛機氣動力增量的作用點。焦點的位置是決定飛機穩(wěn)定性的重要參數(shù)。焦點位于飛機重心之前則飛機是不穩(wěn)定的,焦點位于飛機重心之后則飛機是穩(wěn)定的。我們知道,當飛機處于平衡狀態(tài)時,作用在飛機上的所有氣動力的作用點一定與飛機的中心重合。當飛機受到擾動或其他原因攻角發(fā)生改變,作用在飛機上的氣動力會發(fā)生變化,不僅是大小的變化,作用點也會發(fā)生變化。這時,我們可以通過力的合成原理,將氣動力分解成兩部分,一部分是飛機在原來的平衡位置所受到的氣動力,仍然作用于重心;另一部分是氣動力的改變量,作用點就是飛機的焦點。
如圖,藍色的點就是飛機的焦點。飛機在受到一個使攻角增大的擾動情況下,增加的氣動力就作用在焦點上,如果飛機的焦點位于重心之后,則氣動力增量將對重心產(chǎn)生一個低頭力矩,使飛機攻角減小,飛行員即使不加以控制,飛機仍然能夠回到原來的平衡位置;如果焦點位于重心之前,氣動力增量對重心產(chǎn)生的將是抬頭力矩,使飛機繼續(xù)抬頭,偏離繼續(xù)擴大,如果飛行員不及時加以控制,將導致飛行穩(wěn)定性的喪失直至發(fā)生飛行事故。
飛機的焦點位置在整個攻角的變化范圍內(nèi)也是變化的,焦點在機身上的前極限位置被稱為前焦點位置,相應的,焦點在機身上的后極限位置被稱為后焦點位置,在九十多年飛機發(fā)展的過程中,前七十多年里人們都極力將飛機的前焦點控制在飛機的重心之后,以保證飛機具有足夠的穩(wěn)定性,但是為此卻必須付出機動性下降的代價。自從七十年代開始出現(xiàn)電傳操縱以來,人們通過計算機的幫助完全可以保證飛機的穩(wěn)定飛行,焦點位置也沒有必要一定位于重心之后了,所以現(xiàn)代的高性能戰(zhàn)斗機都是采用電傳操縱的不穩(wěn)定飛機。這
